Thank you for checking out the ‘Views of the Valley’ website.

This is a series of new, intimate songwriting camps in Wicklow, Ireland for experienced Songwriters, Producers and Creatives interested in co-writing. The ‘Views of the Valley’ camp was recently established in September 2022.

Since then, a total of five events have been held. Each time, 15 Creatives, made up of 10 Songwriters and 5 Producers, came together to write songs.

What is the structure of the camp?

The retreat is made up of 15 Creatives: 10 Singer/Songwriters and 5 Producers.

There are three days of songwriting. On each of the three days, you will be put into a group of 3. Between the hours of approx 9.30am and 6.30pm, you will remain in your group to write and produce your song.

Who owns the songs that are written?

The songs are owned only by those involved in its writing.

Split sheets will be made available.

Are there pitching opportunities available? Is there a record label/publishing company involved?

The camps are not run by a record label or publishing company.

The primary agenda of the retreat is to provide a creative space for Artists. It is ultimately the decision of each group what they choose to do with their songs, and there is no obligation on retreat organiser(s) to find homes for any songs written. You may be an Artist who wishes to write a song for yourself, in which case this can be discussed within your songwriting group.

Are meals included?

Meals, except for the final dinner are included. Further details will be given regarding this to participants in advance of the camp.
